The KidsPeace Foundation announced that Michael B. Kent, Jr., has joined its Board of Trustees.

Mr. Kent is a professor at the Campbell University School of Law in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He also is an attorney of counsel at the firm Envisage Law, where his practice focuses on zoning and land use regulation, commercial real estate, and state and local government law. He has served as a law clerk to two federal judges and has authored numerous articles, essays and book chapters on various legal subjects.

Mr. Kent noted that he first heard of KidsPeace in the early 2000s while working at a law firm near the organization’s Bowdon, GA campus, and later learned of the breadth of its range of programs and services.

“I began thinking about possible involvement with KidsPeace just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and those thoughts became more focused after witnessing the isolation and social disruption the pandemic fostered,” he said.  “It was such an encouragement to see KidsPeace continue and even strengthen its work during that crucial and trying time.”

“I’m proud to partner with KidsPeace as a Foundation Trustee, and hope to help others discover the vital ways it works to support children, youth, and their families,” he added.

Mr. Kent is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia Law School and also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. He lives in Cary, NC.
