Healing Magazine Marks KidsPeace Foster Care’s 45th Anniversary

By December 4, 2024No Comments

In 1979 KidsPeace (then known as Wiley House) was first licensed to provide foster care services in Bethlehem, PA. Over the next 45 years the organization expanded its foster care services to multiple offices throughout Pennsylvania and into five other states.

Along with its geographic expansion, KidsPeace also has evolved its Foster Care and Community Programs (FCCP) offerings to meet the emerging needs of foster children and families.

To mark the anniversary of KidsPeace Foster Care, the latest issue of Healing Magazine profiles some of these new programs – including offerings from Maine, New York and Virginia along with Pennsylvania — and discusses the past and future of fostering with experts from its FCCP operations.

Also featured in the Fall/Winter 2024 edition of Healing:

  • Opportunities in the therapeutic field – and their education requirements
  • Tips on emphasizing body safety among children
  • Insights from educators on the changes they’ve seen in the five years since the emergence of COVID-19
  • And 2024’s honorees for outstanding customer service in the annual KidsPeace Foundation HELP Awards.

Twice a year, Healing Magazine delivers thought-provoking information and perspectives that address issues of importance to children’s professionals, therapists, educators, parents, and others who have an interest in seeing kids grow, thrive and succeed in life.  The Fall/Winter 2024 edition and its articles are available now at www.healingmagazine.org – where readers also can subscribe to the print version of future issues of the magazine for free.
