Keeping our kids safe: Addressing gun violence on a systems and individual level
When: Wednesday, October 9, 2024, 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Where: Donley Therapeutic Education Center, KidsPeace Orchard Hills Campus, Orefield, PA
Amid an epidemic of gun-related violence, how can we keep our kids, our schools and our communities safe? KidsPeace will explore potential answers to that question at its 26th National Conference. The event will feature an in-depth training presentation by Dr. Peter Langman, one of America’s leading authorities on the issue of mass shootings in schools. In his “School Shooters: Perpetrators and Prevention” session, Dr. Langman will draw on decades of research to identify key warning signs and offer suggestions for school districts and other institutions to prevent such tragedies. Dr. Langman also will join school officials, clinical professionals and affected community members in panel discussions on the current state of gun violence among young people and how to address it effectively.
Conference attendees will receive lunch and have the opportunity to earn CEU credits for attending the event.
